“At Nashcroft, I found top notch gear and engineering. A studio that feels great to be in. Decor for both studio and house that is groovy, western, literate, musical. Guest facilities that were hip, clean and gave me privacy. Instruments everywhere making me feel like I was home. Meals that made me feel healthy and clear. Business kept well-separated from the 'vibe.' Indoors and outdoors all the time, with a vista to gasp over, a garden to pore over, and two efficient, decent, relaxed hosts who know what makes for good music.” Jane Siberry
“A steady stream of artists have recorded at Nashcroft Studios – from Ridley Bent to Issa to my son Dustin to Luke Doucett. Everyone loves the place. We slept there and ate out of the garden. We would play and sing looking out at the ever-changing desert hills. At night we would watch the stars spill out into the firmament. In the day when it would get too hot we’d pile into the back of Leslie’s pickup and head down to the fast flowing waters of the Thompson River. We’d float downstream staring up at the magnificent hoodoos (which would occasionally calve off into the river in a massive mushroom cloud of dust and spray). We’d get all cranked up and head back to the studio – raring to go. It was about the nicest spot I’ve ever recorded – right up there with the recording of TIL TOMORROW in Santa Fe NM.” Barney Bentall
“I absolutely fell in love with Nashcroft Manor recording there in 2008. Johnny has an incredible talent for unearthing the best work in any artist who passes through his studio. Every songwriter is digging for his gold, but Johnny puts songs on the radio! He is an excavator - he digs through the dirt and finds solid rock.” Dustin Bentall
