“Her exceptional writing style & playful stage presence delights patrons of all ages and backgrounds. She commands a stage with grace & humility that speaks to the dedication she holds for her craft. Leslie is a rare gift that embodies all of the true traits a singer-songwriter works a lifetime to achieve . . . she presents a musical styling that is unmatched and distinctive.” Yvonne Mcskimming, Organiser Just Singin’ Round Song Circle

"It was a pleasure to work with Leslie Alexander presenting the historical play, “Flash From The Past.” Leslie wrote the script, directed, wrote a song for Ashcroft and performed as part of the cast. She worked tirelessly with the volunteer actors, singers and dancers until we had a truly inspiring play to present to our community. Thanks to Leslie, we wowed the audiences!
Councillor Alice Durksen, BC 150 Committee

“Heads up – Leslie Alexander may be the best roots artist you’ve never heard of. Garden in the Stones, the third disc from this hard-touring folk-country crossover, is a strong album of eminently listenable songs . . . Featuring her band the Wild Rose Hippies, plus Alexander’s own Shawn Colvin-eseque vocals, Stones has “strong radio play” written all over it . . . “
Monday Magazine (Victoria)

"Leslie Alexander writes and sings with great insight and compassion. . . about loss of roots, innocence and even life. Still, buoyed by an optimism inherit in the title of her strong new album, Garden in the Stones, Alexander never makes you feel bad. She can be country . . . she can be folk . . . she can even be a little bluesy. The one thing Leslie Alexander seems incapable of being is phony." Comox Valley Record

“Recollections of her farmstead upbringing colour this fine second album from the Vancouver-based songwriter. There’s nothing savage about Alexander’s vocals, which echo folk-country icons Rosanne Cash and Alison Krauss.” “Pick Of The Month” Western Living Magazine

“Bird in the House is one the best independent CD’s I’ve heard in awhile . . . intelligent, mostly acoustic folk-rock with some great rhythms and smart productions.” Westender

"This lady stole my heart. . . she gave us raw passion, powerful emotion, gentle love, and simple to-the-point poetry that brought tears to my eyes. . . a varied and well thought through program. Accompanied by John Ellis’ inspired riffs that would have justified a set of his own . . . this set was the highlight of the evening by a mile. With a mind like that, her grasp of what matters in life and her ability to communicate it, she should get a Grammy . . .” Alberni Valley Times

“She has a pure Canadian sound that rings of the wide open prairie yet there is a maturity that only comes from travel and real life experiences. Leslie’s writing has depth and vision that connects us to our own experiences . . . listening to her songs is like hanging out with old friends. I would recommend Leslie to any festival or club and look forward to future recordings.” Maureen Chambers, Director South Country Fair
